Ready Set Drive - Getting your Ls

Following the successful program held recently, Deaf Children Australia is partnering up again with CRUDE Ultimate Driving Education and hosting Ready Set Drive again next year! Take part in this unique driver training program for deaf and hard of hearing people that support you in getting your Ls and more. The date will be released shortly, but you can register your interest now!

This first component will be classroom based, and will aim at getting you on your Ls plates and on the road (with training wheels)!

In this one-day workshop, you'll learn about:

    • road rules
    • road safety
    • awareness on our roads
    • how to open up the hood of a vehicle to go through basic maintenance
    • how to change a tyre
    • vehicle dynamics
    • utilising a simulator to experience the dangers of vehicles in a safe environment
    • practice Learner test to get you ready for the big day!

The qualified instructors from CRUDE Ultimate Driving Education will conduct the workshop. Auslan interpreters will be present throughout the workshop.

Who can attend?

Any deaf or hard of hearing person 16 years and up. No experience is required. People already have their Learner's permit but would like a refresher are also welcome!

Access to DCA events are subjected to participants adhering to State vaccination regulations and venues policy. No refund will be issued for failure to meet these requirements. Every participant will need to provide evidence of full vaccination.

Ready Set Drive is an interactive workshop for deaf and hard of hearing people at the start of their driving journey. No experience is required, we've got you!
